We have exciting news that is worth celebrating. You may have heard the news that recently our Ministry Manager Bekah Hagan Ahenda was successful in passing her licensing interview by the Pacific District of the C&MA.
This sounds great, but what does it mean?
Well it means she has been licensed as a Portable worker within our denomination. She has been found to be well alligned with our denomination both in personal and theological postures, and has had affirmed in her the gifts, traits, and character of someone we want to fully support in a ministry role.
On our staff team, we want to agree with the District's affirmation of Bekah. One of the things this licensing opens up for us is the ability to more fully release Bekah into the pastoral elements of her work. Communications is pastoral by nature. Facilitating connection into our community is pastoral work. Greeting our community and representing well the body of Jesus in this organization called Victoria Alliance Church - ultimately it is a caregiving or pastoral role. Whereas before we were required to categorize Bekah's work as primarily administrative, with her new license, we are thrilled to be able to re-categorize her role to that of Associate Pastor. She will continue to oversee all the same roles and responsibilities from within our pastoral team.
So... drumroll please.... join Pastor Rob and Pastor Kyla in welcoming our new Associate Pastor to the pastoral team! We look forward to seeing what doors of ministry are opened before us all as a result of Pastor Bekah's faithful pursuit of her call.
Congratulations Pastor Bekah! You are loved.
