The new Ministry Manager will propel forward our faith community on mission to make Jesus known by ensuring successful day to day operations of all the Victoria Alliance Church ministries. The full-time position is a brand new role for Victoria Alliance, and is the result of a process to assess the needs of our community in this season of ministry.
We are delighted to introduce the successful candidate, Rebekah Hagan Ahenda.
Rebekah will be relocating to Victoria this October with her husband, Mark. She comes highly recommended by her current church, Foothills Alliance in Calgary. Though they are sad to see her go, the folks at Foothills are excited for this new season of ministry and opportunity for Rebekah, and so are we!
Here is an excerpt from her introduction:
When telling my story, I often joke that church has been a part of my life since the womb; while a little exaggerated, its not entirely untrue. Throughout my life I have been involved in churches as small as 50 and as large as 1500. I have served in a volunteer capacity with everything from music to youth and kids, to leading Young Adults events, to cleaning toilets, to getting the transparency right ninety percent of the time on the projector.
My husband and I are sensing God's call to a new adventure, and we think that this call fits within the vision and mission of VAC, which you have clearly done some excellent and intentional work on. In particular, your value of community via inclusion, diversity and unity mirror my heart for church and my values exactly.
We are very excited to have Rebekah joining our team soon. She has many gifts and abilities that will serve our community well, and a heart for God that is genuine and contagious.
While we wait for her arrival here, please hold her and Mark in prayer as they prepare to leave a home they have loved to come to a place that it new. We are asking the Lord to show them favour and safety as they travel and adjust to the new adventure He is leading them upon. And we pray that God will be preparing friendships, family, and the community here in Victoria that they desire.
We also trust that God will be preparing this church community to faithfully respond to the call we each have to faithfully remain on mission to make Jesus known among us, around us, beyond us. This season of transition will undoubtedly bring change and new opportunity to serve in love. May God be glorified in us all!
