Dear Church,
We wanted to pause this Giving Tuesday to offer gratitude and honour to our community. We are so grateful to be a part of a church community that gives their time, talents, and finances to support the work of making Jesus known to others in the same way Jesus has been made known to you.
It is truly a community effort that reflects all of the diversity of who we are. So let us offer our gratitude to you today:
There are those among us who gift their presence among us and enrich our community - we honour you today.
There are those among us who gift their time running sound, teaching children, greeting, decorating, singing and playing music, baking, and countless other ways - we honour you today.
There are those among us who gift in small amounts as they are able - we honour you today.
There are those among us who gift abundantly to this work - we honour you today.
and there are those among us who gift somewhere in between - we honour you today.
Everyone who participates in our community is truly a gift. Our sincerest and warmest gratitude to you on this Giving Tuesday, a reminder that we could not do this important work without our generous and kind community.
If you have never participated in the financial support of VAC and would like more information on how to join in, you can find that information here.
If you find yourself in a place where you are unable to participate in this way, please simply accept all the care and support we are able to offer as a gift from us to you. The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians puts it this way:
Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality... The goal is equality, as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.” 2 Cor 8:13&15
We look forward to serving alongside you as we welcome and celebrate with many community members around us this Advent season.
Warmly,
The VAC Staff Team
