Join us through week three of Slowing Christmas: a short moment of pause every day to slow our pace together thoughout the Advent Season.
We hope these moments of slowness bring you closer to yourself and your creator this Advent season.
"There were shepherds camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them."
-Luke 2:8-9 (MSG)
As you find stillness in your body:
Breathe in, saying: "Open my eyes"
Breathe out, saying: "To see God's glory"
Jesus, show me how to slow my pace. I want to keep in step with you this season.
Speak with me God about your glory. point to the places I usually
seek glory. Redirect my heart to seek you alone.
Jesus is the hope of glory, come into the world. He is with you.
You are loved.
“There were shepherds camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, 'Don’t be afraid.'"
- Luke 2:8-9 (MSG)
As you find stillness in your body:
Breathe out, saying "God is near"
Breathe in, saying "Do not be afraid"
Jesus, show me how to slow my pace. I want to keep in step with you this season.
Speak gently with me lord - of what am I afraid? Show me the closeness of your presence and the safe way you speak my name. Please lift away my fears. Let me be a non-anxious presence in every room this christmas.
Jesus' presence brings peace to anxious souls. Fear not.
You are loved.
The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master."
-Luke 2:10-11 (MSG)
As you find stillness in your body:
Breathe out, saying "Welcome Jesus"
Breathe in, saying "Bring your joy."
Jesus, show me how to slow my pace. I want to keep in step with you this season.
Today I'm not sure I know what joy is, let alone what it means to be full of it. Talk to me, Spirit, about your joy for the world. What in me needs to be emptied that I might become joy-filled?
Joy is the presence of Ggod. God is with you. Joy is here.
You are loved.
A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.
- Luke 2: 11 - 12 (MSG)
As you find stillness in your body:
Breathe in, saying "I need you Jesus."
Breathe out, saying "You're all that I need."
Jesus, show me how to slow my pace. I want to keep in step with you this season.
Show me where I resist your saving. help me see where I try to save myself.
What gets in the way of me trusting your saving grace?
God's love was born as a Saviour for the whole world.
You are loved.
This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.
- Luke 2: 12 (MSG)
As you find stillness in your body:
Breathe in, saying "Open my eyes"
Breathe out, saying "I want to see Jesus."
Jesus, show me how to slow my pace. I want to keep in step with you this season.
Direct my thoughts lord. Show me what you want to talk with me about. Silence my thoughts.
Let me see what you have done.
The light of the world has come for all to see.
Look no further.
You are loved.
